Towards the end of his life, travel, friends and the solace he found in painting and writing became more and more important to him.

As Chasing Churchill comes to its conclusion in the beautiful setting of the Cote d’Azur, Celia reflects for us on the life of the man she knew: a life which began on the battlefields of the world, blossomed through remarkable qualities of leadership and inspiration, but then began to fade into the melancholy of old age.

At the end of Chasing Churchill, we will not have a complete picture of this remarkable man, for that will never be possible, but we will know him much better - more intimately and more personally – through the unique insight of Celia Sandys as she goes in search of her grandfather.
