Coming back to Chop Shop for his second year is the youngest member of the team, 21-year-old welder Terry Hodges. He has had a passion for anything with wheels and an engine since an early age, and it wasn’t long until he started working on go-karts and building his own kit cars.
Despite his love of cars Terry didn’t want to become a mechanic, so learning how to weld seemed to be the obvious alternative career move. He has been at college part-time for the past four years, covering all welding processes and techniques and is the resident Chop Shop welding expert.
His favourite custom car from Series 1 was the Tiger Jag, but his favourite modified car overall has been the recent Capri build for Lawrence Dallaglio.
One of the best aspects about working on Chop Shop for Terry has been the sense of achievement in creating something new and original and being able to put your name to it. But the biggest everyday challenge he faces on the show is having to put away his dart board after lunch.
