A new face to Chop Shop for Series 2 is Shaun McNamee. Shaun grew up around cars, and began learning his trade as a body fitter from his father who ran a garage of his own.
After leaving school at 16 he quickly started working in a crash repair garage and trained at The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre at Thatcham. His hard work paid off when he won apprentice of the year in 2002. Outside of his normal work, Shaun has worked on conversions that have appeared in numerous magazine spreads.
The biggest challenge that Shaun has faced so far during his time on Chop Shop has been converting the Capri for Lawrence Dallaglio to run on a V8 engine. The finished car was also his favourite Chop Shop car so far.
Working on the show has been an opportunity for him to meet some great new people, and to look forward to coming to work every day – despite having to deal with Bernie’s poor sense of humour.
