This is the story of 50 chimpanzees, 26 gorillas, seven baboons and four mandrills who have been orphaned by the bush meat trade in the West African country of Cameroon.
Logging, funded by European countries, has deprived thousands of apes of their homes, and allowed poachers in to kill them for meat.
The young apes will be sold as pets…unless Rachel Hogan, Avi Sivan, Talilah, Babs the Vet, the Keepers and the volunteers who form the Cameroon Wildlife Aid Fund can get to them first.
Set against the exotic backdrop of the Cameroon rainforest, Going Ape is a new docu-soap – proving that when it comes to social intrigue, both gorillas and chimps put humans in the shade.
