Bear Grylls has travelled the Arctic and climbed Everest. Now his challenge is the icy peaks of the Chugach Mountains, Alaska, one of the toughest environments on the planet.


Each year over one million people visit this wilderness in search of virgin snow to ski, climb and hike. Every year 500 people get lost or stranded. Deliberately putting himself in the position of a stranded skier, Bear uses his specialist survival skills and knowledge to journey across Alaska and shows us how to survive extreme mountain slopes, glaciers tunnels, bear infested forests and treacherous ice floes in a small boat.
