" Now, you may be wondering why I'm drilling such huge holes into the vehicle structure. Well, basically, this is where the roll cage is gonna bolt down to, so you can imagine the need to put a knot on the back of where the bolt goes into. But of course I can't. I can't get a spot onto the back of this because of its back section, so what I'm gonna do is create some captive knots. What that means is I'm gonna basically weld a knot to a metal plate, so there, when it's all in position, we can tie that bolt down into place and make everything secure. Okay, having drilled all the holes, we're now gonna start grinding all the areas and just be prepared ready for the welding. All the craft work inside the car is now sorted, so now I'm turning my attention to these welding plates. So we're gonna do something for the middle of the roll cage and for the front. Some drivers don't fit a complete roll cage, a half cage is sufficient for regulations, but this more difficult installation is safer, and therefore, more desirable for a new buyer. Come on, this is one of the welding plates for the middle of the roll cage. I'm just, I've actually drilled holes in there. On top of [unk] in there as well. These are the bolts that are actually gonna go in to hold the whole thing down. Can you see that? That got a lot of [unk] on them which is why I've done the tapping as well. I'll put it now on the back. I'm just gonna weld onto the plate and then we have captive knots. There you go, we got all welded in place. You can see the captive knots on the bottom there, and it's gonna pop on into position. There's a little bit of plate. Just wanna make sure about everything adjusted beautifully with our roll cage. Got one down there for there and 2 on the other side as well of course. Now, the next stage is to reassemble the roll cage. I mean, tuck everything into place ready for the full on welding. Now, you might not really like it, but we really are getting there. With all 4 plates welded into place, I can now fit in that roll cage. It's then backing with a bare minimum of original trim. There is the last piece of a very long puzzle, but it is critical that [unk] car has a roll cage, and I think it does give the car a sense of purpose as well, and when the car is backing without that sound, I think we've lighten the car a little bit, but all retain the luxury feel of a Porsche."
