In a daring attempt to create media controversy, Pottsy and Giles board the Yushin Maru #2 from the Delta at extremely high speeds. This single act created a media firestorm and help put Sea Sheperd in to the public eye.
The Sea Sheperds finally catch the Japanese whaling fleet's mothership, the Nisshin Maru. In their first pass they throw non-toxic butyric acid and methocel onto the deck of the ship, hoping to disrupt whaling activity.
Employing a tactic from Star Wars, the Steve Irwin hides in an ice field hoping a Japanese recon ship will mistake it for an iceberg. Hey, it worked for the Millenium Falcon!

Often used by riot police in crowd control situations, an LRAD (or Long Range Acoustic Device) disrupts the hearing of all it comes into contact with. It can also disrupt electrical equipment and cause permanent deafness.
When the Sea Shepherds get too close the Japanese unleash a fury of water at them using onboard water cannons. Getting hit could knock you off your feet... or off the boat you are on.
Apart from the radar, the helicopter is the eyes and ears of Sea Shepherd. The helicopter can travel ahead to scout for the Japanese as well as report back about ice patterns and weather conditions.
The Steve Irwin isn't fast enough to catch whaling ships on its own, so it relies on the outboard "fast" boats to get close. A team of four will ride up to a whaling vessel and throw butyric acid and even try to foul a prop of the biggest ships.
The Sea Shepherd's weapon of choice is butyric acid. Bottled and thrown onto the decks of whaling ships, it spoils any whale meat it comes in contact with, and makes it almost impossible to work on the deck.
