Miami Ink - Tim Hendricks tattoos Chris Garver

" Garver's friend and fellow artist, Tim Hendrix, is in town from LA, and he's taking time to give Garver a portrait-style tattoo."

" How do you feel?"

" What's going on brother?"

" I'm glad that Tim came out. It's nice to see like a face from home. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get from you, and then I was like looking through some books, and I seem like getting one of these."

" Oh, give me that."

" Tim is such an amazing portrait artist. Everytime I see him work, I'm like inspired. And there's like nobody really that I wanted to get a portrait of, so I just picked out a photograph of a Japanese hanya mask, like something like that or that."

" Tim will tattoo a hanya head on Garver, a Japanese mask of a bride who was so jealous she grew horns. But, he'll use a more hands-on approach to create the stencil. Instead of using Thermofax like we do, he used carbon paper to physically trace the image and create a carbon stencil that would transfer the design onto the skin."

" How'd you do that?"

" What?"

" That's how I used to do it."

" You know, he seems like a nice guy and super talented, so it's always nice to have another addition to the club. I think I can learn a couple of things from this guy."

" Aw, that sucks! That thing looks so good in the beginning. What did you do?"

" I Garvered it."

" It looks so [unk] cool."

" Feel really honored to tattoo Chris because he's one of the greatest tattoo artists and just artist in general that I've ever seen."

" I think you could stick a fork in me now."

" That's wow, awesome Tim."

" I like scary. I'm not gonna be able to look at that thing before I go to sleep."

" I definitely wouldn't let just anybody tattoo me. I'd rather get tattooed by somebody that I like and Tim did an amazing job. I'm like totally happy with it. It was like he was copying a photograph"
