" Will and Anne, my traveling companions, sit it out in Havana, my journey across Cuba continues. I'm still in Cayo Largo, an offshore resort renowned for its superb bonefishing. But as an alternative today, my guide, Marco, is taking me out to the coral reef to try and look for something big, ugly, and with teeth."

" Something there."

" But it's too early to say what it is, and it seems fairly sizable. Marco is smiling because he loves to see me doing this for hours on end. But here we go. Yes, this is a proper fish. What was that famous line in Jaws?"

" Looks like we'll need a bigger boat."

" This thing's [unk], Marco."

" Oow!"

" It's coming right at us here."

" Are you okay?"

" Not as good as you, but I'm okay. Well, it's quite exciting playing something that you don't know the identity of it, and that's one of the beauties of fishing out here at Cayo Largo on the reef because there are so many different species of fish. And this one we hooked on a dead bait from a fish we caught earlier on trolling. And we just let it drift behind the boat over the deep water with the idea of maybe picking up a bigger fish, maybe a group or a big snapper, or a shark."

" Have you seen it?"

" Big group, big groupie yet."

" Oh blimey! It's a whacker. Look at this. Now that is a monster. And Marco is just gonna put a chin gaff into the fish. It won't hurt it, but it's the only way we can get it on board for you to look at. We can release the fish quite safely at the end of this. But this is a very big reef and look down his mouth. You could put your arm in there."

" Yeah sure, but I wouldn't advise it."

" That's a clanker, Marco."

" Now, in Spanish, this fish is called [unk]."

" [unk]."

" That's it, [unk]."

" Let's have a look at him, Marco."

" That is what you call a fish. It must weigh"

" Cincuenta libra."

" Yeah, about 50."

" Yeah, about 50 pounds."

" Man!"

" Now then, that's at least 50 pounds. Maybe more."

" Very heavy."

" Yeah."

" Maybe 60 pounds."

" Yeah, maybe."

" A beauty! Now this fish lives on the bottom down among the coral. We're packing about a bit here. It probably lives in a cave down there somewhere, and he sits there very quietly until his food comes past. And when he wants to eat, it opens up that, and I don't think I'd wanna be a fish disappearing down there. Would you? `Cause I don't think there's any way back. Now this fish would be fantastic eating. It's worth a lot of money, but it's given us our sport and my friend here, Marco, is a true sport fisherman, one of the very few in Cuba."

" It's a beautiful fish. There she goes."

" Woohoho!"

" Good job."

" We've caught some good fish together over the years."

" Yeah."

" But that one, we'll remember it."

" Super grouper!"

" Yeah."
