James Cameron's Last Mysteries of the Titanic

James Cameron's Last Mysteries of the Titanic info

When James Cameron filmed his epic feature Titanic, he became obsessed with the wreck in real life. He knew that the ocean was taking its toll on the wreck, and that if images were to be gathered, and remaining questions answered, an immediate mission was required.

Discovery was there as he designed his own submersible, and specially designed cameras – and then plunged us thousands of meters into the North Atlantic... to uncover the Last Mysteries of The Titanic.

  • Cameron and his team created unique equipment allowing access to parts of the ship that hadn’t been seen for nearly a hundred years, including the Turkish baths and first-class cabins.
  • Even more intriguing was the ability to access the holds containing the luggage of the firsy-class passengers and government cargo… many myths surround the contents of these holds…
  • James Cameron broadcast large portions of the event live. We were along for the ride for real, as Discovery cameras were probably the last to be able to visit the gradually fading super-ship.
