American Chopper

American Chopper info

A low rumbling growl, slowly building to a roar; extreme swirling ink jobs; strange over-sized body-work; the heady smell of engine oil. It can only mean one thing. Yup – it’s Paul Teutel Sr, boss hog of Orange County Custom. And the one-off bikes he builds with his equally insane family are pretty wild too.

The Discovery audience have fallen in love with this tribe of loonies who manage to squeeze in building the world’s most extreme custom mean machines between bickering, bitching and brawling. But it’s not all happy families – sometimes they really get cross. There’s nothing quite like it on television, but then, there’s nothing quite like their bikes.

These are passionate people creating road-rumbling works of art.

They can’t be any other way – and we wouldn’t want them to be!

  • Orange County Custom have built special bikes for many celebrities including Lance Armstrong, Jay Leno, Bill Murray and Russell Crowe.
  • In one of the most memorable episodes, the US Air Force commissioned the most expensive bike to date. The $150,000 Air Force Jet Bike is over 10-feet long, and used as a recruiting tool for the Force.
  • In just over 4 years, we’ve seen the family and their loyal team become world famous – and create over 80 custom bikes, many exhibited around the globe.
  • They’ve even managed to create their own TV genre – one critic called it ‘Bike Opera’, and the tag has caught on!
  • American Chopper is so popular it has inspired not one, but THREE, spoof parody TV shows – including Comedy Central’s American Body Shop.
