Golden Age of Shipping

The golden age of shipping began when the world was finally officially divided into horizontal lines of latitude – a massive aid to sailors as they navigated the world’s uncharted waters.

It was a time when many of the explorers, who later became household names, were bravely heading into the unknown.

And it wasn’t just European sailors who were forging the way. Chinese maritime strength was also a power to be reckoned with.
