A good crash helmet could save your life, so choose carefully.
There are two types – open-face for better visibility or full-face for better protection. Whichever you decide to buy, spend as much as you can afford. Then check what’s available within your price range and make sure it meets the legal requirements of your country.
In the shop, try on as many helmets as you can. Make sure it fits well – a good check is to make sure you can’t turn your head inside the helmet. Finally, be certain you are comfortable – that’s far more important than colour or design.
