Today, the eastern martial arts of taekwondo, karate and judo are among the most widely practiced in the world.
Korea has one of the richest martial traditions in history, while most Japanese martial arts can be traced directly back to China or Korea.
The Japanese martial philosophies of bujutsu, or “ancient martial arts”, and budo, “new martial ways”, are rooted in spiritual concepts and teachings from Zen Buddhism which made their way to Japan from India via China.
