Chuck Norris, whose real name is Carlos Ray Norris, received his martial arts training in South Korea having been sent there as a military policeman by the United States Air Force.
Norris founded Chun Kuk Do, or “Universal Way”, and is also proficient in judo, taekwondo, karate and Brazilian jujitsu. He has won many martial arts championships, including a Middleweight Karate championship in 1968 and Karate’s triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year in 1969.
Norris made his acting debut in Wrecking Crew (1968), starred alongside Bruce Lee in Way of the Dragon (1972) and had his first starring role in Breaker, Breaker! (1977). Norris dedicated his popular Missing in Action films to his younger brother Weiland who was killed in Vietnam.
Amongst other achievements, Chuck Norris founded The United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF) and U.S President George W. Bush once said that Chuck Norris was his favourite actor.
