Built for Champions
The Allianz Arena in Munich
The Allianz Arena in Munich and Beijing's Olympic Stadium
Built for Champions is an extraordinary programme investigating two of the most modern sports arenas in history. The programme looks at the pioneering architects who designed the arenas, the management of the project planners and the extremely hard-working construction crews who worked day and night to realise these ambitious structures.

In this amazing documentary, Built for Champions explores the 2006 Soccer World Cup host stadium in Munich where an expected 66,000 supporters will join together to witness the opening game. The programme will also take an in-depth look at Beijing’s brand new Olympic Stadium which will be the focus of the 2008 Olympic Games and could well be one of the most awe-inspiring stadiums ever built.

The masterminds behind both of these pieces of structural genius are Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, both of whom have worked tirelessly to ensure that each project is complete and ready for action on time. Watch this exciting adventure to see if these feats of engineering really are Built for Champions.
