The Sex Pistols:

In 1977, Malcolm McClaren, the godfather of punk, invited Sid to join the Sex Pistols. His lack of musical talent didn’t matter – they often unplugged the amp when he played and he was never recorded in the studio. McClaren wanted him because he had the look and the attitude of punk: he was rebellious, anarchic and destructive.

Fame and notoriety followed. Sid was only 19 when the Pistols made it to the top of the charts with songs like Anarchy in the UK and God Save the Queen, which made number one despite being censored.
