Tragic death:

In 1981, Natalie and RJ (as she called Wagner) invited their friend Christopher Walken for a weekend cruise around Catalina Island on their yacht, the ‘Splendor’.

After dinner and drinks, Natalie retired to bed. Several hours later, Wagner realised she was missing and raised the alarm. The coastguards found her body floating close to shore. She had apparently slipped from the deck and drowned while trying to climb into a dinghy. She was just 43 years old. Prophetically, Natalie had had a life-long terror of water, said to have been brought on when a stunt bridge she was standing on collapsed during filming for Green Promise (1949).
