A 17-person production team used state-of-the art technology to capture the saga. During the filming, two of the crew members reached the summit and two others entered the 'Death Zone'.

Approximately 250 hours of footage were captured, with two Digibeta cameras, three Sherpa cams and six Z1 cameras.
There were 17 people in the production team. A total of 15 were on the mountain:

1 Sherpa cam technician
1 location editor
1 production coordinator
1 executive producer
The production team documented 11 climbers/clients, 24 Sherpas and camp crew, and three professional mountain guides.
Two cameramen reached the summit – Ken Sauls from the USA and Mark Whetu from New Zealand. It was Ken's second summit and Mark's fourth.
Two directors – Ed Wardle (UK) and Jen Peedom (Australia) – made it to Camp 4 at 27,500 feet, inside what is known as the 'death zone'.
