For over a decade Nefertiti was the most influential woman in Egypt. At 15 she married Amenophis IV who changed his name to Akhenaton after ascending the throne around 1353BC and she was promoted to be his queen.

She was held in godlike reverence by her people. Her beauty was legendary and her image adorned buildings and monuments all over Egypt.

Between them, she and Akhenaton wrought the biggest religious changes of their time winning friends and making enemies. While her husband's demise is well documented in his tomb, Nefrtiti's ultimate fate was always shrouded in mystery and theories abounded.
