In Ancient Egypt, farming was the main job for most ordinary Egyptians. They produced a range of crops for all purposes using advanced agricultural methods, apparatus and astute use of the patterns of the Nile’s water levels.
Likewise, their skilled tradesmen were among the best in the world, producing artefacts and buildings far in advance of their time using highly-developed tools and progressive working methods. They were revered among their people, as surviving work shows.
Egyptian life wasn’t all work and no play however. They enjoyed a range of recreational activities that we recognise, even today.
