Egyptian death

Nothing was more important to Egyptians than eternal life and they went to great lengths to achieve it.

From spells and rituals, to embalming and constructing magnificent tombs, the more money they had, the more they spent on their preparations for death. The ancient Egyptians had beliefs about the separation of the physical and spiritual beings.

The mummification process preserved bodies for thousand of years, provisions and literature were left for the deceased and ornate and elaborate burial traditions ensured safe passage into eternal life.
