Bigfoot is a legendary ape-like creature who roams remote areas around the world.
He has different names depending which part of the world he’s spotted in. In Tibet, where he haunts the Himalayas, he is called a Yeti or the Abominable Snowman. He’s Mapinguari in the Amazon, Yowie in Australia and in the USA he is known as Sasquatch.
Wherever he is seen, the description is usually the same. He’s 7ft – 10ft (2.1m – 2.7m) tall, covered in shaggy hair or fur, with a small head and heavy brow.
Some think he is a real humanoid, who has stayed hidden in forests and mountains for centuries. Sceptics claim that what people think is Bigfoot is nothing more mysterious than a grizzly bear on its hind legs.
