Introduction

Great bears live in over 60 countries in North and South America, Europe and the Arctic. Reaching up to three meters in height and weighing as much as 800 kilograms, they rank amongst the planet’s most impressive land predators.

The family of great bears encompasses eight species. They share a powerful body, short tail and strong paws with non-retractable claws.
